Rowers are eligible to participate if they meet any one (1) of the following requirements:

1. Be a rower from first year (2007).
2. Current residents who were raised on Fogo Island/Change Islands and residents who were raised and have moved from the island for less than 10 years.
3. New residents to Fogo Island/Change Islands who have lived for at least 5 years and former residents who were raised on the Islands and have moved away for more than 10 years.
4. New residents living on Fogo Island/Change Islands since September 1, 2010.
