The Great Fogo Island Punt Race Steering Committee is organizing the fourth annual Great Fogo Island Punt Race for the summer of 2010. The race will be held on July 27 and in the event of bad weather, on the next best day.

On July 27th the Punt Race Day takes place with a series of activities to provide great fun and enjoyment for participants and audiences alike. The Great Fogo Island Punt Race to There and Back is a demanding and exciting challenge with crews racing from Fogo Island to Change Islands and back; a total distance of approximately 10 miles of open ocean.

The Punt Race compliments the area’s other great summer festivals.
